Searching For A Job
Trying
to find a job that matches your skills is not an easy task, especially when you
move to another state or country. I
remember when I moved to Florida in the early 90’s; I was having a hard time
finding an office job. Back then and
still today there is big competition of who gets the position, but that didn’t
slow me down, I needed to start working right away, so I went ahead and changed
career for a while. I decided to try the
industry world from assembling to machine operator. I didn’t mind doing that type of job. I knew it was temporary. The important thing is that I was working and
paying my bills. A few years later I
found an office job.
Another
thing that should be taken into consideration is the salary. Receiving a salary offer lower than expected
can be disappointing for many people.
Trying to negotiate your salary can be an uncomfortable situation. Even if you do not get the results you
desire, the effort of negotiating will make you feel better about yourself. Every company has their own rules, some will
pay according to the applicant experience, and others depend on how busy the
company is if they can afford it.
The
point is that no matter how hard times are try to be more flexible when looking
for a job. I know it’s not easy to perform
jobs that you are not used to doing or you don’t like, but the important thing
is a decent and honest job and putting food on your table.
